Podcast - Featuring Megan Torgerson
🎙️ Welcome to 100 Rural Women and Their Stories — Episode #22.
In this week’s episode, Megan Torgerson, founder and producer of Reframing Rural—recently named “Best Podcast of the Year” by the Best of the West Media Awards—shares her journey from growing up on a wheat farm and cattle ranch in Montana to becoming a storyteller, podcaster, and mother.
Megan reflects on lessons from her grandmother, a Slovakian refugee, and the double standards she experienced growing up. She talks about curiosity, building community across geographic and cultural divides, and the courage to address topics rural communities often leave unspoken. She also shares her experience navigating motherhood and a look ahead at Season Five of Reframing Rural, focused on rural motherhood.

2026 Summit
Reckoning & Reorienting
Radical means going to the roots. And roots, by their nature, do not act alone, they form relationships. As they grow, they turn away from what is toxic and toward what is nourishing.
This year’s summit invites participants to walk in both worlds: to reckon honestly with what is coming apart in the-world-as-it-is-now, while exploring the practices already stabilizing and readying rural communities for profound transformations: the-world-as-it-could-be.
