Announcing our Podcast
Welcome to our brand new podcast series “100 Rural Women and Their Stories”! Join our founder, Teresa Kittridge, as she sets out to interview 100 women who have made a difference in rural communities and beyond. These are women who have led positive change while overcoming challenges and breaking barriers.
Our FIRST episode drops next Wednesday...with new episodes EVERY week!. You can find us on all your favorite streaming platforms.
We Are Joining Substack
We’re excited to share that 100 Rural Women is expanding to new communication platforms! This will help us better highlight our work and celebrate the incredible women who inspire us to keep moving forward every day.
We hope to see you there—come connect, learn, and grow with us!
Announcing our May Book Selection
The Personal Librarian tells the story of an extraordinary woman, famous for her intellect, style, and wit, and shares the lengths to which she must go—for the protection of her family and her legacy—to preserve her carefully crafted white identity in the racist world in which she lives.
Civic and Community Engagement
Nominations Open
For four decades, the McKnight Foundation has honored individuals who have had a significant impact on the state of Minnesota and its communities but who have not been widely recognized for their work in the past.
Do you know an inspiring individual who makes their community a much better place to be? Honor them by submitting a nomination for the 2026 Virginia McKnight Binger Heart of Community Honor. Each honoree receives $10,000 in recognition of the significant impact they have had on the state of Minnesota and its communities.
One individual will be nominated from each distinct region across the state, in alignment with the Minnesota Initiative Foundations.
Webinar
Rural communities are often described as being “in the middle of nowhere,” but modern life tells a different story. Join in on April 21 for a webinar exploring how traditional data, combined with emerging mobile data can help communities better understand regional movement patterns and connections.
Elected Officials
Let your voice be heard—Share your experiences and suggestions with elected officials! Your voice can guide them to make better informed decisions to represent all of their constituents and create stronger communities that thrive for everyone!
Civic Engagement Resources:
Morning Connections
Morning Connections is an informal meeting series that consist of light conversation over zoom. If you’re looking for a space to take time for yourself to just connect with others, we invite you to join us. Bring beverages, children, breakfast, pets, or work – the goal is to connect informally with other women and a host who will facilitate. We look forward to networking with you!
