April Book Group Next Week
Join us on Wednesday, April 8th at 7:00 PM CT to discuss ‘Waterfall’ by Mary Casanova. This is a space for women to connect and chat about the book. Don’t worry if you haven’t finished it; we all have busy lives! Check out our website for more info about the author, a podcast, and a video. Can’t wait to see you there!
KAXE’s Heidi Holton interviews Mary Casanova about her third historic book on Rainy Lake. Set in 1922, it features Trinity Baird, a 21-year-old artist from a wealthy family. Trinity, strong but broken, was put in an asylum for being ‘hysterical.’ The book addresses issues like mental illness stigma, women’s equality, racism, and anti-Semitism....

The SAVE Act: What every American Voter Needs to Know
What is the SAVE Act?
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (also called the SAVE Act or SAVE America Act) is a federal bill that would fundamentally change how Americans register to vote. It has passed the House of Representatives multiple times since 2024, including most recently in February 2026, and is in the US Senate.
Today, Vote.org can help you register to vote in minutes, online, from anywhere. Under the SAVE Act, that process would change significantly. Voters would generally need to present documentary proof of citizenship in person before completing registration, effectively eliminating most current online and mail registration methods. For most people, that means a passport or certified birth certificate.
